Crowdsourced sarcasm: aticketforrush.com
Some days you just have to love the Internet. A Ticket for Rush! is what I call in the headline “crowdsourced sarcasm” – taking advantage of the collective humor and spite of thousands to make a rather funny point.

Recently, a number of interesting things happened. First, Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show that if the Healthcare Reform Bill passed, he would go to Costa Rica. Second, the Healthcare Reform Bill passed. As you can imagine, this has made a number of people very excited. We are among that number. We want to make sure that Rush is able to make good on his promise, and so we’ve made this website.
When I first saw this site a couple hours ago – and given the topic, it must have just gone live today – it had a few hundred shares on Facebook and about $400 dollars raised ($1 per donation). I wandered off, did some work, hit refresh on the browser and see the total has now reached nearly $1,000 with 720+ Facebook shares and hundreds (thousands?) of tweets.
Whatever your politics, the collective power and creativity of smartasses enabled by the ‘Net is something to smile at.
